By REGINA Suzuki celebrates its world premiere in Tokyo of a small car for the next generation. In developing the model designed for the global market Weight loss was a major goal.So impressed with the lightweight lean 730 kilograms. Another focus of the Suzuki engineers focused on the aerodynamics: The drag coefficient of Regina is at least ten percent lower than current models in this segment. This also benefits fuel consumption: The gasoline engine consumes 3.1 liters of fuel-efficient REGINA 100 kilometers (measured in the JC08 test cycle). The CO2 emissions is climate-friendly 70 grams per kilometer.
The master of the 'small-cars' universe, Suzuki Motor Corporation, has unveiled yet another small car concept christened ‘Regina’, which is being previewed as the next-generation global compact car from the Japanese car maker.
The small car concept, which boasts of a lightweight body and a highly efficient powertrain, is powered by a 0.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine and returns a mileage of 36kmpl while keeping the CO2 emissions as low as 70g/km. The stylish-looking four-seater concept somewhat looks like the Suzuki Swift and is lighter by 300kg. Dimensionally, Regina, which is 3550mm long and 1630mm wide, is tad smaller than the Maruti Suzuki Alto. However the concept gets a longer wheelbase of 2425mm and stands slightly taller by 30mm than the Alto.

Suzuki has no intentions of pushing Regina to the production line just yet. However, we can certainly look forward to a new global compact car, which will be a derivative of the concept and will be positioned below the Suzuki Swift in the global market.
